What is Faith?

Faith is showing up at His feet over and over gain

For a long time, I thought faith meant having all the right words, the right prayers, and the right answers. But what I am learning is that faith is less about perfection and more about persistence. It’s choosing to go back to God over and over – when you feel lost, when prayers seem to echo in the silence and when doubt feels louder than trust. To me, faith is continuing to take our fears to God even when we aren’t sure what’s happening or why it’s happening. Faith is believing that God is working in our story even when we don’t feel it. Faith is trusting that God will show up in His timing. Faith is trying to live and be more like Jesus every day, even though as humans, we will fail. Faith is recognizing the times we fall short and constantly trying to be better.

Just because you do not understand what is going on or why something is happening, it does not mean that your faith is less than. In fact, if anything, those feelings make faith more real because it takes faith to keep walking toward God when the path feels uncertain, when you can’t see where He’s leading, or when His voice feels quiet. Returning to God in these moments is an act of trust and is a way of saying. “I believe You are here, even when I can’t feel it.”

So, don't ever feel inadequate in your faith because you let doubt creep in. Faith isn't about having every question answered or every step mapped out - it's about learning to rest in God even when the way feels unclear. Faith is not about having all the answers; it's about trusting the One who does. It's choosing to go back to God again and again. Faith grows when we return to him and when we surrender. At the end of the day, faith is less about what we understand and more about who we cling to - our steady and faithful God.
